Support The Great Reveal and LGBTQ art!

Might be seeing things.             Has a trick up her sleeves.              Would rather be working.        Will kill for a good photo.

What could be worse than a
gender reveal party in a pandemic?

Ask Dosia and Linus, a trans couple
figuring out how to show up for family
members they love, but also want to strangle.
With sibling rivalry, a high gone awry,
and a little pink-and-blue sabotage,
something’s bound to burst —
and it may not be the balloons.

World Premiere of the new play by David Valdes. Directed by Bridget Kathleen O'Leary & Charlotte Snow.

With Arthur Gomez, Antonia Turilli, Jupiter Lê, and Paige Clark

IT'S MORE THAN A SHOW Your Great Reveal ticket will...

Support LGBTQ Artists

Help Make the Great Reveal A Success

BUY A FULL-PRICE TICKET. Full-priced tickets are the best way to help a theater keep the lights on in the tough post-pandemic theater economy

With the assault on LGBTQ art right now -- from the Kennedy Center to theaters nationwide -- it's more important than ever to support queer art. I write plays with queer and trans characters that reflect the world I live in and the people we love, and this show employs queer and trans artists not just on stage but backstage.

Support Local Theater

American Theatre magazine estimated a 40% drop-off in theater donations and number of produced shows. For small and midsize theaters, this has meant financial loss, fewer productions, and closures. When you buy a ticket for a non-touring show, you're helping keep local theater alive.

BUY A DISCOUNTED TICKET. Don't let ticket prices stand in the way. Enjoy one of Lyric Stage's Lyric for All offerings: $10 student tickets at all shows, $30 for anyone 35 and under, $25 seats for every performance, and discounts for seniors, teachers, veterans, WIC & EBT cardholders, and more. These savings increase accessibility, as well as help to bring more community to the stage. More audiences means more word of mouth, which lifts a show.

BRING A GROUP. Get discounts of up to 20% per ticket when you bring a group. Make a girls' night out. Bring your church group, choir, parents' group, sports team, friend squad, high school or college class, family, officemates, or anyone else who'd enjoy a mix of laughter, tears, and thought-provoking discussion.

Support New Plays

For most theaters, the biggest leaps of faith in programming a season is the inclusion of new plays. It's harder to draw audiences who do not know the show or playwright, which can yield lower ticket sales. Post-pandemic that's even more true. But when theaters like the Lyric do commit to a new play, other theaters feel safer in programming the work, helping bring new work to even more people. That means they need audiences in the seats at those first productions to keep making it all possible.

SPREAD THE WORD FOR FREE! Word of mouth is everything. Tell your friends and family you're interested in the show or that you've gotten tickets. Can't make it? Tell others why you wish you could. Become a social media ambassador for the show, sharing images and content online. If you saw the workshop or do see the show, let others know about your experience.
